10 Of The Most Pet-Friendly Hotels In NYC For Your Dog Or Cat

New York City is a constant adventure, and one of the most walkable cities in the country. That makes it a great place to travel with your furry best friend — whether it be dog or cat. No one really wants to leave their best friend back home while they're out living their best lives – and now you don't have, with this guide to pet-friendly hotels in NYC.

While there’s no shortage of cafés and restaurants that are dog-friendly as well as a slew of dog parks, at some point everyone needs to settle back into a home base. That will require a dog-friendly hotel, and there’s plenty of them in New York City — some even have special pet amenities, like pet-friendly room service, loaner dog beds, toys, and so much more! Be sure to pay attention to rules as far as size or weight of your dog or any additional fees that may be involved before booking, just so there are no surprises!

1. Loews Regency New York Hotel

Upper East Side 540 Park Ave New York, NY 10065

Loews Hotels was the first national hotel chain to launch a pet program and they provide amenities that include a special pet room-service menu, a welcome letter from their Managing Director who has his very own yellow lab, Lola-Maibs, along with a list of local pet services, pet toys, bedding, and more. Loews Regency New York Hotel is just steps from world-famous Central Park - the perfect spot to walk your four-legged family members.

2. Four Seasons Hotel New York

Upper East Side 57 E 57th Street New York, NY 10022

One of the few New York City area hotels that offers no-fee stays for up to two pets per room. They also provide a food/water bowl, plush pet bed, treats, etc. for pet guests during their stay. Upon request, concierge can facilitate walking services to Central Park or arrange for a sitter.

3. The High Line Hotel

Chelsea 180 Tenth Avenue New York, NY 10011

In the Chelsea area, The High Line Hotel has a pretty front garden and back patio that are neighborhood gathering spots where locals sip espresso by day or a cocktail by night — their dogs by their sides. The cocktail garden also offers all-natural, non-alcoholic doggie brews, so you won’t even have to drink alone! There are also a nearby dog park and recommended walking services available.

4. TWA Hotel, JFK Airport

JFK Airport One Idlewild Drive JFK International Airport Queens, 11430

The TWA Hotel at JFK International Airport is fun and exciting for its retro airline-inspired design, but it’s also cool for pets too. All guestrooms are open to guests with pets (there is a $25 fee per pet). For pups with pre-flight jitters, the hotel’s gift shop sells a TWA fleece-and-canvas plush bone to calm any nervous fliers!

5. Kimpton Muse Hotel

Midtown West 130 West 46th Street New York, NY 10036

For travelers visiting New York City with their furry friends, Kimpton Hotels (there are three more in the area) do not charge for pets and there is no limit on the number of pets allowed. The special treatment starts as soon as you arrive, where staff will greet your pup by name. Once you get in the room, there’ll be pet beds as well as food, water bowls, and mats available. There will be a concierge list of pet-friendly restaurants, parks, and groomers in the area, courtesy bags for dog walking, as well as door hanger alerts to notify hotel staff and guests of when your pet is in the room.

6. Hyatt House New York/Chelsea

Chelsea 815 6th Avenue New York, NY 10001

The hotel is beloved for its great location and 11th floor outdoor terrace with skyline views, but it’s also a fun place for furry friends. Guests can bring up to two dogs – for one to six nights, the pet fee is $75. For seven to 30 nights, the pet fee is $75 plus a $100 cleaning fee.

7. Dream Downtown

Chelsea 355 West 16th Street New York, NY 10011

This pet-friendly spot is steps away from Chelsea Market. The very dog-friendly Highline allows dogs weighing less than 25 pounds in rooms for a fee of $99. These pets may not be left unattended at any time.

8. The Benjamin

Midtown East 125 E 50th Street New York, NY 10022

The Benjamin feels extra special for bringing pets because, while they do charge a fee for a pet staying in your room, they also donate a part of it to Animal League, which is a no-kill animal shelter. How awesome is that? The Benjamin will allow up to two pets of any size for a fee of $60 per stay. Pets (or their owners!) can also request a bed and bowls at check-in for no extra charge.

9. W New York Union Square

Union Square 201 Park Ave South New York, NY 10003

The W Hotels are famous for their super comfortable beds and they're not exclusive to humans. Pets get treats to snack on and their own mini W pet bed to sleep in when they stay in the room with you! W’s policy allows one pet up to 40 pounds for a fee of $100 per stay, plus $25 per night, but take note that your pet cannot be left unattended. There is also an awesome park just across the street.

10. Crosby Street Hotel

SoHo 79 Crosby Street New York, NY 10012

This SoHo spot is super swanky, with an amazing bar and view to match, but it’s also a great spot for your pup. One dog up to 30 pounds can stay for no additional fee and dogs may be left unattended in guest rooms (if they are well behaved, that is!). They even offer dog bowls upon request!
